In 1997, the Publisher Geraldo Jordão Pereira invited Designer Flávia Torres to teach craftwork techniques in the Sain Cyprian Project (Projeto São Cipriano), created by Malicene Figueredo. Success was such, that soon she was part of the team. Now the Project teaches 170 adolescents in several arts and crafts areas each semester. The result was so tempting that in 1998 first Parceria Carioca's store was opened in Botanical Garden's neighborhood, so that we could sell the students final product.
Today, Saint Cyprian Project is still the store's main supplier, but business was expanded to includ other projects, coops, NGOs and artisans. That´s how and why stores multiplied. In 2000 we opened Gávea Store. In 2003 with a new partner, Anna Victória Osório, we opened Ipanema Store, in one Rio's most carioca's neighborhoods.
